Fred Shoup [violin/viola]
Having retired from the Foreign Service of the U.S. State Department and then re-retired from teaching English as a second language at Washington-area universities, Fred Shoup now spends most of his time playing and studying chamber music. He organizes the programs of the Rock Creek Chamber Players.

Taka Ariga [cello/piano]
Though it was a conscious decision not to pursue music professionally, Taka considers music the core essence of his life. While earning engineering degrees at Johns Hopkins University, he had a wonderful relationship working with the late Stephen Kates of whom he studied with at Peabody Conservatory. Also an avid pianist, Taka previously studied keyboard with Jane Bastien and George Luchtenberg.

Midge Carlton [flute]
Co-principal flutist in the Jewish Community Center orchestra in Rockville, Maryland, also has performed with the Washington Savoyards, Hexagon, Music in the Inner City, and the flute/clarinet/piano trio Caprice. She holds a magna cum laude degree in music from Carleton College in Minnesota.

Billie Anderton [viola]
After graduating form the Birmingham (Alabama) Conservatory, pursued graduate studies at American University with Raphael Hillyer among others, and she has coached with the Tokyo and Guarneri string quartets. She has served as leader of the Galliard String Quartet, as concertmaster of the Alexandria Symphony, and as a teacher both of individual students and string ensembles at the Northern Virginia Community College. She maintains a private teaching studio, and she performs on violin and viola as a member of Friday Morning Music Club ensembles.
